Altering election sequence will consume NASS members- Governorship aspirant
Senate President Bukola Saraki
An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Gombe State, Abubakar Habu Mu'azu has warned that the attempt by members of the National Assembly to alter the sequence of 2019 elections will backfire and consume the lawmakers.
He gave the warning in Bauchi after a meeting of Northeast officials of Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO) held at APC zonal headquarters in Bauchi.
"Most of them were elected because of his popularity. So APC is Buhari, Buhari is APC and the masses are for the president forever.
"Like I tell you, the sequence of election they wanted to alter in their favour in order to undermine the president and serve their personal interests will consume them.
"The comments of some of the National Assembly members was like directly targeted at the president and definitely, it is going to consume them," he said.
He said that the president will be reelected in 2019 because he was elected in 2015 when Nigeria was heading for collapse and he came and rescued it.
